Refuge of Hope LogoThe former Open Door Chapel, which is today a part of Refuge of Hope Ministries, began in 1986 as a safe haven for those in desperate human need. Out of a rented store front, the organization began providing free hot meals, clothing and outreach services for urban children in the Canton area. In 2003, Open Door Chapel merged with Refuge of Hope Ministries. Refuge of Hope Ministries had been founded in 2001 by a group of concerned Canton area citizens, who began with a simple vision of offering a free coffee house, principled living classes and mentorships to the hungry and destitute in the community, as well as eventually offering homeless housing.

For 22 years, the Great Canton community has readily supported the work that is being carried on by Refuge of Hope. Refuge of Hope Ministries has grown in its ability to supply supportive services aimed at breaking the cycle of addictive behavioral patterns while building healthy relationships in order to gain sustained independence.

We welcome your interest and desire in partnering with us serving those in need.
